Mark 1:3 "The Voice of one crying in the Wilderness. . . ."
Dr. J. Royce Thomason, cowboy, veteran, medical missionary, and evangelist, founded The Voice in the Wilderness in 1953. After serving in the war, he began traveling worldwide, assisting in any way he could, those labouring for the Lord. His first missionary letter was written from Birmingham, England. From that time until his homegoing in 2006, he faithfully shared with those who cared the witness that was taking place around the world. Friends reading his reports would also be burdened to help serving and would, through Bro. Royce and The Voice in the Wilderness, help with teaching materials, church buildings, and other needs. The Voice in the Wilderness has been given the opportunity to be a part of what God is doing in India, South America, the Philippines and many other areas.
Dr. Ronnie L. Williamson and wife, Terry, joined The Voice in the Wilderness in 1997 at the request of Dr. Thomason. Having entered the ministry in 1973 immediately after Bible College training, the Williamsons brought with them years of experience in local church ministry and a great heart for missions. Writing, preaching, traveling - together they carried on the unique, evangelistic ministry of The Voice in the Wilderness.
In 2004, the Williamson's son-in-law and daughter, Steve and Rebekah Lilly, joined the team. Their teaching talents and experience added another level of ministry to The Voice in the Wilderness.
As a family, the Williamsons and Lillys have served as a team, Teaching, Preaching and Reaching through the opportunities the Lord has provided for The Voice in the Wilderness.
For 70 years and counting, The Voice in the Wilderness continues to:
