The moon turns to blood.

This is today's biblical alert.

James Weldon Johnson wrote about the moon - the moon turning to blood. You have heard of James Weldon Johnson. He was educated at Atlanta University and Columbia. He was the first black admitted to the Florida Bar. He was also a poet and songwriter, American Council in Venezuela and Nicaragua, executive secretary to the NAACP, and Professor of Creative Literature at Fisk University. I've memorized two of his poems. "The Creation" and "The Judgment Day." This is what James Weldon Johnson wrote about the moon.

Too late, sinner! Too late!
Good-bye, sinner! Good-bye!
In hell, sinner! In hell!
Beyond the reach of the love of God.

And I hear a voice, crying, crying:
Time shall be no more!
Time shall be no more!
Time shall be no more!
And the sun will go out like a candle in the wind,
The moon will turn to dripping blood,
The stars will fall like cinders,
And the sea will burn like tar;
And the earth shall melt away and be dissolved,
And the sky will roll up like a scroll.
With a wave of His hand God will blot out time,
And start the wheel of eternity.

Sinner, oh, sinner,
Where will you stand
In that great day when God’s a-going to rain down fire?

Acts chapter two actually says this: "The sun shall be turned into darkness and the moon into blood before that great and notable day of the Lord come." Listen to me carefully! That verse is followed by:  "And it shall come to pass that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved." Are you looking up today? Hey, look up - look up! I'm not talking about a celestial phenomenon that God Almighty, The Creator, set in motion. Evolutionist and atheist may call it happenstance or give some reasoning behind it, but God is the Creator and the heavens declare His handiwork. One day the King of Kings is coming, and, at this moment, when you peer into these amazing wonders, I encourage you to call upon the name of the Lord and thou shalt be saved! This is today's biblical alert.
